ONX Studio Onassis Foundation is an accelerator, a subsidized workspace and presentation gallery located in the Onassis Gallery of Olympic Tower, the Midtown Manhattan headquarters of Onassis USA. Completed in Fall 2020, it houses a dozen artists and producers, including NEW INC alumni and others working in mixed reality, for a year-long term to develop significant works for the public realm. The studio space transforms into a mixed reality gallery every year for a month-long showcase featuring ONX members.

The 4,000-square-foot space provides an accelerator for this growing community of mixed reality artists where they will be able to develop, beta test, and demo their works in a presentation gallery for curators, producers, collectors, and agencies. Members will host open houses and salons where the community can share best practices and foster a network and support system.

At its core, the project is a new type of convergence space for a growing community of mixed reality artists where they will be able to develop, beta test, and demo their works in a presentation gallery for curators, producers, collectors, and agencies. The primary element of the space is an infrastructural ceiling with rigging capacity, power points, flexible lighting and sound equipment.  This ceiling houses AR/VR-specific equipment including an opti-track motion capture set-up, green screen capabilities, and a high-definition projector and screen.  The space incorporates two demo rooms, including one one acoustically isolated space sound recording and sound specific projects.  A continuous curtain track lines the space to visually contain the space while still allowing for free movement between the workspaces.
