The Rocker imagines a domestic space composed of ritualistic objects imbued with non-technological time, a sanctuary for high-performance mysticism. Part meditation seat, part yoga ball chair, part coffee table, the Rocker is an essential tool for peak experience living. The curved shape encourages an active sitting posture for a single person or a dynamic balancing act for two. Flipped upside down, the Rocker doubles as a surface for stretching the body. On its side it becomes a table, its only stable position.
Two editions of the Rocker have been created—one for a domestic interior use milled from a single boulder of Gneissic stone and the other for outdoor use formed out of perforated stainless steel sheet. Accompanying each seat is a textured, rubber mat which adds a tactile layer to the form. Together, the seat and the mat produce a contrasting sensorial experience, rigid yet soft, grounded yet dynamic.
